We just launched a new version. Our favorite features are:
(i) Touch support: We now support a whole range of Nokia touch phones.
(ii) GPRS Data Support: Enable GPRS to avoid any SMS charges.
(iii) Easier sharing: Forward your posts across Conversations & Streams.
Existing users may need to remove old client first: Existing users, you need to first remove the previous client versions. You would lose your old chat messages and stream posts, but the app will synchronize all your conversation groups and subscribed / created streams so that any new activity will not impacted. We apologize for the inconvenience but it’s going to be worth it! To remove the client:
1. Go to main Menu --> Apps and locate the Communities app
2. Select Options --> Remove
Key Features
It's different from Facebook and other social networks. It's main features are Conversations and Streams.
With Conversations you can communicate simultaneously with up to 15 people by sending a single message, similar to instant messaging. This feature is ideal for short conversations with friends, family, and co-workers (like coordinating a weekend plan or checking how their day is going).
With Streams, you can broadcast messages to your subscribed followers and, likewise, view messages from all people you subscribe to. This feature is intended to create channels for community building and following a topic (e.g. jokes, movies, career tips, local news) or a person (e.g. fan group for a Bollywood star).
Some of the other features are:
* Does not require a login; the service uses your mobile number to identify you
* No fee for usage, costs only 1 standard SMS rate (even when sending to multiple people)
* Switch to GPRS and you can further save on your SMS costs
* App works on over 100+ Nokia devices including touch and non-touch
